This prestigious regatta features sailors of all ages from Weymouth, Braintree, Quincy, Hingham, Hull, Marshfield, Scituate, Norwell, Hanover and other boating communities.

Quincy Bay Race Week, hosted by eight Yacht Clubs located in Massachusetts, is not just an event; it’s a celebration of youth, skill, and the enduring spirit of the sea.

2026 scholarship winners!

Each year the Quincy Bay Race Week Association awards several scholarships to students  from the 8 participating yacht clubs who are pursuing higher education. Please visit our SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION page for more information and to download the application form.

Henry Lamb Family Scholarship – $1000

Tristan Andre, Wollaston Yacht Club, attending Webb Institute and majoring in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering.  

 

Liberty Bay Credit Union Scholarship – $1000

Emma March, Wessagussett Yacht Club, attending University of Rhode Island and majoring in Health Science

Sailing For All Levels 

Quincy Bay Race Week races cater to sailors at all levels of experience. Junior sailors can participate in the Inside Line races, while the more experienced sailors race on the outside line. Boats used include C420s, N10s, Hustlers, Laser, Laser Radial, Optis, Stars, Thunderbirds, Widgeons, and more.

Inside Line Races

Focused on Junior sailors, the inside line makes up the majority of the Quincy Bay Race Week participants. These sailors, aged 8-18, compete sailing C420s, N10s, Lasers, Optis, and Widgeons.

Outside Line Races

The outside line consists of veteran sailors competing in C420s, Hustlers, Stars, Thunderbirds and more. Many of these sailors sailed the inside line as children.

Eight Yacht Clubs Strong

Eight South Shore yacht clubs make up the Quincy Bay Race Week Association. Each Club is represented by their Commodores and delegates. Braintree, Metropolitan, Quincy, South Shore, Squantum, Town River, Wessagussett and Wollaston Yacht Clubs make up Quincy Bay Race Week Association.

Junior and Senior Functions

The Junior Social is a great way for the Junior Members from the 8 yacht clubs to spend time together socializing making race day that much more fun!

The Senior Members and Yacht Club Officers host Rendezvous Night each year to raise money for Quincy Bay Race Week, but mostly to get together and have fun!
